Yes. Bonding scans use ultrasound (sound waves, not radiation). They’re performed by qualified professionals using appropriate settings and scan time to obtain clear views.

How accurate are Bonding Scans?

What can be seen depends on factors like gestational age and baby’s position. We use modern, high-spec ultrasound equipment to provide clear views, and our sonographers will explain what you’re seeing throughout the scan.

When will I get the results of my Bonding Scan?

You’ll see your baby in real time during the appointment, and you’ll be talked through the findings on the day. You can also request digital images and a report, depending on what you choose at booking.

Can a Bonding Scan detect my baby’s heartbeat?

Yes. During the scan, you can view the heartbeat and you may see the BPM (beats per minute) reading.

Can I find out the gender of my baby during a Bonding Scan?

If you’d like to know, you can request optional gender confirmation during your appointment (subject to clear views on the day).

What To Expect At The Appointment

You will be greeted by one of our friendly receptionists
You will be asked to fill in our consent form and will be given a copy of our Terms and Conditions
We will also ask for some extra details about your pregnancy to ensure our sonographer and team are completely informed about the reason for your visit.
You and your family can then just relax before going into the scan room.
Your scan will be conducted by one of our expert sonographers.
